Want to know our values?

Ready to try some?

Want to know who we are?

  • Are you the same as the other gun-affiliated coffee companies?
Absolutely not. We stand apart from the others in that we firmly stand behind what we believe in. What does this mean for you? - We will never sacrifice the quality of our cup for quantity of sales. This means Misfit Militia Coffee will always be a micro-roastery, and our testing standards will remain strict. - You will never find Misfit Militia Coffee on the shelf of a big-box store. This means that when you look at the Misfit Businesses, there will only be small/local businesses listed. - We will NEVER shy away from defending the values we stand on. This means our ultimate message will always remain God-centered and constitutional, and our actions will follow suit.
  • What does it mean to be a Misfit?
Being a Misfit means you do not move along with the masses just because "everyone is doing it" or "someone smarter than myself said so..." Misfits come from all walks of life, but they are unified in the reality that they don't fit the mold society would claim they must follow. When society claims feelings matter over facts, Misfits stick to reality. The opinions of others only have as much value as they have truth. Even if this means nobody else walks a particular path, a Misfit walks that path alone because they know it's the right one. Misfits understand that protecting life is a responsibility we have from God, and so they train to have the capability to do just that -- protect life. The 2nd Amendment isn't about guns, it's about being a trained warrior, and guns are just a means to that end. We march to the beat of our own drum and truth is the only thing that matters. Most significant of all, Misfits understand who the ultimate ruler and authority is in their reality. The same reason we protect life is the same reason we show mercy and grace -- because the Lord, our God, commands it. In all that we do as Misfits, we stand apart from the masses to the glory of God.
  • So you guys just run around and fight the government?
No, being a part of a militia doesn't mean you're some paranoid, right-wing, extremist lunatic waiting to fight your government. If your government is worth anything, they're the last ones you're worried about fighting. Being a part of a militia is accepting the responsibility of protecting your own rights and freedoms, period. How a militia operates depends on the environment. As stated in the 2nd amendment: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a FREE STATE...". Is your government threatening the rights and liberties of your FREE STATE? If so, a militia stands to inform them of the misconduct and is prepared to fight back IF NECESSARY. However, this same approach applies to outside governing bodies, ciminals, and anyone or anything that would infringe on your rights and liberties. We as the Misfit Militia believe we need to be ready and trained to handle such cases. No, this isn't vigilantism where we aim to seek out criminals and start shooting them. Misfit Militia embodies the idea of being ready so that if someone decides to bring violence against us, we're better trained and equipped to stop them. In case we have not said it enough, it's about protecting the life and liberty God has provided.
  • I've never tried Misfit Militia Coffee. Which origin is best for me?
All of our origins give a smooth, never-acidic, never-bitter cup, and you truly cannot go wrong trying any of them! That being said, the majority of folks are used to drinking Colombian coffee that has been burned. Colombian coffee SHOULD be roasted to a medium roast, but when burned, it becomes a medium-dark roast. Because of this, we always recommend the best origin to start on is our 45 ACP. This is our medium dark roast, without the bitterness or acidity of burnt coffee, and will truly showcase for you the difference between our coffee and others.
  • What's the best way to brew coffee?
This truly depends on how much time you have to brew your coffee when you want/need it. We test each brew method continuously to assess quality, so you're going to get a smooth and delicious cup regardless of how you brew! If you're in a rush, our cartridges are a sure-fire way to get delicious coffee FAST. If you have about 10 minutes, going with a pour over setup will develop flavors you do not get with quick brewing methods. If you have one of our travel French Press mugs, that's truly the best of both worlds. Be sure to message us if you need a walk-through on how to handle any of these methods!
  • I just bought a box of Misfit Militia cartridges and it does not taste the same as in-store. What's the issue?
From all the time we've spent researching Keurig-style brewers, we've found one thing that is always true: If you do not frequently and properly descale your Keurig-style brewer, NO coffee brewed from the machine will taste good. For more information on how to descale your brewer, check out the discussion we had on a previous Misfit Monday Debrief! Here we gave a brief guide on how to descale your brewer: https://youtu.be/KNnwAG_4vY0?t=1729
  • What makes your cartridges different?
We spent a month in research and development to figure out how to make our cartridges taste as good as a cup of coffee from a regular coffee pot. The Mad Chazzler was adamant that you, the people, should not have to sacrifice flavor for convenience. Understanding the science behind the interaction of coffee grounds and hot water of varying temperatures, the Lord allowed us to determine the optimal amount of coffee and grind size for the best flavor extraction.
  • Why do you allow religion and politics into your business?
We believe this question has one inherent flaw: as Christians, we do not believe we have the choice for our faith (and thereby, our political views) to NOT be in our business. The Bible is clear about which areas of our lives should express our faith: "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." - 1 Corinthians 10:31 We founded Misfit Militia Coffee to glorify God. We left previous occupations because we felt this one would bring more glory to God than the jobs we had held. We know that having "religion and politics" in our business can deter business, but what good would sales do us if they came at the price of declaring that Jesus is Lord? As the Bible also explains: "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" - Mark 8:36 So, to answer the question, we allow religion and politics into our business because of these three points: 1. God is the one who gave us this business. 2. God commands that we glorify him in ALL aspects of our life, including this business. 3. Earthly success means nothing if it leads to eternal separation from our Lord.
